On July 9, the first domestic FB2 medium pressure rotor of the world's largest grade developed by the National Machinery Group was successfully shipped, marking that the Group has conquered the key core technology of the whole process of FB2 medium pressure rotor forgings of million kilowatt ultra-supercritical units and successfully realized the import substitution of FB2 material for the whole series of rotor forgings.

The FB2 medium-pressure rotor delivered this time is the key core component of the 1000 MW ultra-supercritical unit with the highest commercial temperature. It is independently developed by the group's subsidiary Guoji Heavy Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guoji Heavy Equipment"). It weighs more than 50 tons and has a diameter of more than 1200mm. It is currently one of the heaviest and largest martensitic heat-resistant steel rotor forgings in the world, it will be used in 1000 MW 620 ℃ ultra-supercritical secondary reheat unit, further accelerating the application of FB2 rotor localization engineering, which has great practical significance and far-reaching impact.
The successful development of the world's largest FB2 medium-pressure rotor, the first piece of domestic production, marks the full coverage of large high-end castings and forgings of steam turbines. Not only that, the National Machinery Heavy Equipment also insists on enabling high-end manufacturing with scientific and technological innovation, cultivating and developing new quality productivity according to local conditions, and successively promoting the localization of CB2 material castings, nuclear power welded low-pressure rotors, Cr12 and FB2 material forgings.
FB2 rotor forgings have extremely high technical requirements and are extremely difficult to manufacture, and have long relied on imports. National Machinery Heavy Equipment gives full play to its strong scientific research strength and extreme manufacturing advantages of high-end heavy equipment. Relying on more than 60 years of technological accumulation and relying on innovation platforms such as national key laboratories and national engineering research centers, it has continuously strengthened the basic research and application of key components of ultra-supercritical steam turbines, broken many key core technical barriers, and realized the full range of domestic coverage and mass supply of FB2 rotors.

▲ In July 2024, it will break through the 50-ton domestic first 1000-megawatt ultra-supercritical unit FB2 medium-pressure rotor, achieving a new leap in the world's largest grade and once again filling the domestic gap.
